About us

Founded in 2018, DeNoize is a young startup that designs and develops innovative active noise cancelling technology for windows, to improve their sound insulation performance. DeNoize is tackling the problem of noise pollution by making windows more effective in mitigating the effects of noise transmitted inside homes, especially in areas highly exposed to noise pollution, such as airports and highways.

DeNoize technology exploits the principle of active noise cancellation, using the glazing itself as a loudspeaker membrane, to produce the counter-noise, using actuators and sensors integrated in the window frame. The system reproduces in real-time and in phase opposition the vibration of the glazing induced by the incoming noise, thus allowing a reduction of 90% of the noise transmitted in the low frequencies.

Based in Gardanne (France) in the Georges Charpak Provence Campus of the Ecole des Mines de Saint-Etienne, DeNoize benefits from the dynamism of the Aix-Marseille technological ecosystem and an exceptional working environment

The Job

As part of the development of our active noise cancelling technology for windows, your goal will be to design and implement innovative solutions for mechanical interfaces between an actuator and the glazing of a window. This electromechanical device should allow the glazing to vibrate in order to be able to use it like the membrane of a loudspeaker to produce the counter-noise.

From industrial constraints and actuator specifications, you will be involved in the design, modeling and numerical calculation, prototyping and testing aspects of the proposed solutions.

Job Responsibilities

  • Mechanical design of the system (product development, CAD, dimensioning of the elements)

  • Numerical modeling of the system integrated in the window

  • Finite elements simulation of the mechanical and vibration behavior

  • Optimization of the mechanical coupling between the actuator and the glazing

  • Identification and follow-up of suppliers for the manufacturing of prototypes

  • Performing functional tests on prototypes

Education & experience

Final year of MSc in mechanical engineering school or M2 university. You have good knowledge in general mechanics and vibration behavior of structures.

You master the use of CAD software as well as the theoretical and practical aspects of finite element calculation.

You stand out for your taste for technological innovation, your creativity, your scientific spirit and your physical good sense.

The startup environment also requires qualities of autonomy, thoroughness and responsiveness.

Fluency in english is required for this position.
